Things to do

  1. Go to Charles Bridge and up to the Castle - The Charles bridge (see picture above) is one awfully pretty bridge, quite the beauty so you must cross it. Then head up to the castle (see picture below), I went at night when it was all lit up and it looked amazing. Make sure and stop in at the medieval tavern below, it’s great fun and there’s many steps up to the castle so you’ll need refreshment…STAROPRAMEN!

  2. Go see the astronomical clock at the beginning of the hour - Head along to the the old town square and check out the wee show the astronomical clock (picture down the bottom) puts on every hour.

  3. Escape Room ‘The Chamber’ - Cheap silly fun! Loads of different options of rooms, we did the medieval one (see picture). Had a great laugh and managed to solve the various clues and escape our captors within the hour!

  4. Get on a beer bike and tour the city - Bit of a stag thing to do, but…I was on my brothers stag when I was here and it was fun so if you like beer and seeing the sights, it’s a winner!

food

James Dean Bar - As you may have guessed by the name an old school american diner, but when you’re in Prague you may be hung over…so a selection of great big breakfasts, top notch burgers or loaded chips may be just what you need. It’s also just really tasty! I mean, look at the picture.

Coffee and waffles - Classy wee establishment making beautiful breakfasts, well worth a visit! Does all types of breakfast but specialises in…well, it’s in the title really.

Restaurace U Parlamentu - Classic Czech restaurant, see i did take in some culture!! Strong flavours! I had the Czech staple roasted pork, dumplings and pickled cabbage.

bars & pubs

Duplex Rooftop Bar and Nightclub - Through the day you can go chill looking over the city in one of the wee rooftop glass huts (see picture). Then in the night it turns into one of the top nightclubs open till the early hours…PARTY!

Krcma U Krale Brabantskeho - Halfway up to the castle is this medieval pub with real character. CHEAP AS CHIPS too! Have some food, drink and be merry and take your picture with the medieval characters in the tavern!

James Dean Bar - Below the diner is a club open till 6am, playing cheesy tunes. It’s not the biggest club but loads of fun with performers getting up on the bar!

The Dubliner Prague - Irish pubs are all over Dublin, but this is probably the best. Go check out the astronomical clock then come here for a Guinness and a pie!

TIP - Prague in general is cheap, but watch you don’t get caught out as some pubs/bars will charge double of others. The pubs on the Castle side I found much cheaper.
