top things to do

  1. Floating Market (see picture) - So much fun! Jump on a wee long boat and travel along the canals. Give the captain of your boat a shout when you fancy having a look at something and he’ll stop. Now it is hot so make sure and have plenty Chang lager to keep your fluids up.

  2. Take a ride in a Tuk Tuk - Cheap as chips and a brilliant way to get around the city. You’ll find them everywhere! Oh and if you' don’t know what they are - motorised bike driving you round on a wee leather sofa (see picture at bottom).

  3. Go for a cocktail at the Hangover 2 hotel - Not going to lie the cocktails are pretty god damn pricey but the view is amazing. So take some extra dollar out for one night and get a Pina Colada at the Lebua Hotel!

  4. Visit the reclining Buddha, Grand Palace, Wat Arun and well… many Buddhas! - Get yourself a Tuk Tuk for the afternoon and tour all these old sights of Bangkok. Probably my fave was The Reclining Buddha (see bottom) as its huuuuge, gold and well just lazes about.

  5. Khao San Road - Party? Crazy food, cheap booze and loud music? Then here is where you go. Backpackers love it here. I visited for one evening and definitely lost some of my hearing as well as brain cells thanks to the huge speakers and unbelievably cheap booze.

food

Not going to lie I was only briefly in Bangkok so not really any restaurants to recommend, but I did pop to Chinatown and it was buzzing. If you love the hustle and bustle, eating a variety of food and trying new things then definitely head down here. Great fun and cheap.

my hotel

If you’re staying in Bangkok briefly, then this could be the hotel for you. 5 star, roof top pool, beautiful interior and rooms, and really easy to get to and from the airport. Oh and it’s got it’s own Tuk Tuk! Not bad for £80 a night, may be different now, but i’d definitely recommend it. Only negative is the area isn’t near anything of note, but it’s right beside the train station and there’s Tuk Tuk galore!
