things to do

  1. Christchurch Gondola - Jump on the the cable car which takes you up a wee mountain where you get to see cracking sights of Christchurch and surrounding area (see picture above)

  2. Botanic Gardens -I’m not the biggest flower fan so not totally for me, but it was pretty impressive, I mean some seriously huge trees (see picture at bottom)! Nice to stroll around and have a spot of lunch post Kayak race!

  3. Go Kayaking - Get on the river and get racing! It’s far from white water rafting, but still can be fun (see picture at bottom) 😊👍

  4. Escape Room - Not the best weather? Then head here. Great fun for an hour with your mates…thats if you escape!

  5. Get the wee tram! - Christchurch has been severly affected by earthquakes and there’s a lot of things around the city in memory of that. Jumping on the tram is a great way to see all this and it’s a cool wee old skool tram (see picture at bottom) 😊👍

food

Casa Publica - Cool little bar round the corner from the Theatre I was performing at and it did superb grub (see picture).

Soul Quarter - Had a huge stack of fried chicken and waffles here which was amazing. Does some really classy food.

Smash Palace - Chilled outdoor burger place. Sunny day? Then get the pins out and head here for a beer and a burger in the sun.

C1 espresso - Food that flies to you through tubes! You place your order then you can see your meal flying through tubes over head and landing beside your table at the end of the tube. Open the wee door and there’s your chips, burger etc.

Re:START - Shipping containers that have replaced the mall due to the earthquake. Really innovative and loads of good places to eat.
