things to do
Visit the Nou Camp - If you’re a football/sports nut like myself then you have to go! The museum is amazing and you can go anywhere in the stadium, press box, changing rooms, post match interview area, my favourite had to be the tunnel where the players go through that comes out to the pitch and the dug out.
Go to the Gothic Quarter - Little narrow cobbly streets with amazing old architecture. Loads of restaurants and bars so do what we did and do a tapas tour which we finished by popping into Hotel Ciutat and going to their rooftop pool and bar. Winner!🍻😊
Get a drink at Bosc de les Fades - Had to put this on here as I don’t think I’ve been in a bar like it. It’s like being in Alice in Wonderland but instead of tea, you get a pint! You sit in the middle of a forest, there’s a stoney bridge over a wee river and glowing lanterns above. Then if you pop through to the other room it’s got ornaments a big fire place and a chandelier. (see picture at bottom)
Get a tram to the Castle, Olympic stadium and Palace and return on the Cable car - Tram it up to Montjuic, where you’ll be greeted by loads of fountains and a stunning palace, castle with big cannons and the old Olympic Stadium. Then once you’ve been knighted, ran the 100m and fired a cannon, jump in a cable car to see amazing views as you travel back to the city centre. (see pictures below)
Sagrada Familia - A ridiculously intricately designed basilica by Gaudi, still getting worked on, but if amazing architecture is your thing then check it oot!

Three places that stood out for me in Barcelona for very different reasons…
Sabor de Barrio - GREAT tapas place in the Gothic Quarter, go and check it out, try everything. I was the the big belly abroad after this place! (see picture)
Coco Vail - SPORT, BEER, CHICKEN WIINGS…now we’re talking!. Amazing range and volume of chicken wings, loads of screens and so many beers. Got to love it!
La Boqueria Market - WORLD FAMOUS FOOD MARKET. Just so much variety and amazing quality. Take in all the jamon, seafood, fruit, sweets etc. in this huge market then chill with a beer and some tapas at the great wee bars that are dotted round the market. (see pictures below)
