things to do

  1. Tour the Bernabeu - If you’re a football/sports nut like myself then you have to go! The museum is amazing and you can go anywhere in the stadium, press box, changing rooms, post match interview area, my favourite had to be the tunnel where the players go through that comes out to the pitch and the dug out.

  2. Visit the Royal Palace, Cathedral and Gardens - Huge stunning buildings and grounds all together in one area of Madrid. Stroll around take it all in then head to San Miguel Market for some lunch and a cerveza!

  3. Visit San Miguel Market - Not far from the Royal Palace and with the Best Spanish Tortilla in the world, just check out ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ on Netflix.

  4. Have a wee tapas and pint in Plaza Mayor - The main big square of historic Madrid. Go check it out, chill in the sun with a beer and take in the huge square, monument and grand old buildings.

  5. Hop on Hop off bus - Madrid is a BIG but beautiful city with many fountains and greenery soooooo get on the bus and you can see it all, jumping off at the 4 suggestions above too!

food

Taberna Tirso de Molina - Want to go spanish, traditional, big portions for great value! Then this is the place, we loved it that much we became friends with the staff 😂 (see picture left).

And of course as Phil recommended check out the Spanish Tortilla at San Miguel market!
